Our Story
Hi
I'm Katie and I recently started Scouting Oak Pet Sitting located in the Kearsarge Valley Region of NH. The name Scouting Oak is dear to my heart- my two boys are named Oak & Scout!
I have been passionate about animals and their care for my entire life. As a young girl I took care of horses and was a member of a local 4-H club. I also loved visiting nature centers/zoos and learning about various animal species. I studied wildlife and conservation biology in college and participated in internships that allowed me to work with an abundance of animal species including- an African Serval cat, American alligators, black bears, bobcats, raccoons, and many more!
My husband and I moved to CT after college where I worked in the veterinary field for over 10 years. The practice treated dogs/cats as well as exotics and also had a parrot, reptile and small mammals boarding facility. While in CT I volunteered with a local animal shelter and provided medical care and behavioral testing for the dogs who entered the facility.
Me, my husband, our two boys, dog, and bird now reside in Sutton, NH. My passion for animals has led me to pet sitting- which I enjoy immensely. Every pet I care for I treat as if they are my own
